A day at the beach!

Today we went to our favorite beach on Lake Michigan with our friends. The weather was great and the girls had a blast playing in the water and the sand.

We are planning a trip to the beach tomorrow with friends and the girls got some new sunglasses for the event! Very cute girls!! :)

Paper bag art project

This was such a fun art project to do with the girls. We took ordinary brown paper bags and cut them to the size we wanted, we then wet the bags and crinkled them all up and opened them back up and layed them flat and took an iron on low and went over them to help dry them we were then ready to craft. Ashley did the duck, Megan the Love picture and I did the dove. I plan to get frames and let the girls put them up in their rooms.

Are these dogs spoiled or what???

I'm sure that we have two of the most spoiled rotten dogs around they are both constantly looking for attention and the girls are quick to be at their beckon call!! :) Just a quick nap please!!

What A Deal!!

The girls and I went out to do a little shopping today to get a start on back to school items. We scanned the sale ad's and got everything you see here for just $2.76!!!! Not to bad for clipping a few coupons hu??

Oh..... those warm summer nights!!

Our family loves to putt putt and we try to go as often as we can. We are always on the look out for new courses and new challenges!! This place was a blast!

Williamsburg, VA. 2009

Today was all of our favorite day! We went to Yorktown where we started off by looking at the battle grounds then we took a 2 hour sail boat ride on the York River which leads into the Chesapeake Bay then into the ocean. It was a wonderful tour, the captain had to cut it a little short because there was a bad rain storm that came in but none the less it was great!!

We went to a winery in Williamsburg yesterday. The tour was nice and the wine was really good, most of it anyway. We sampled 8 different wines in a souvenir wine glass and then picked our favorites to bring home. Jim and I agreed on our choices except the raspberry dessert wine which Jim actually liked and I thought was terrible.

We are on the last part of our vacation journey for 2009! We are now in Williamsburg, VA. were we have been for the past 2 days. We have enjoyed the history here (when I say we I mean mostly Jim and I) Megan and Ashley say it's like a school field trip! :) We have been to the towns of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown thus far and dispite the girls comments they have had plenty of time for fun too!

Washington D.C.

We spent the day in D.C. today and had a great day. While we were there we took a tour of the Capital building this was among one of our favorite stops.

Liam

Liam is now 4 1/2 months and cuter then ever. The girls just adore him!!

Scott & Heather's House

We have just started our vacation and our first stop was to Scott and Heather's house (my brother in law and his wife) in Virgina.

We have been enjoying our time with them and the baby he is getting so big (4 1/2) months.

Today we went to a state park where there were lovely water falls. We got some pretty pictures.

The picture of the waterfalls is now my screensaver it is just breathtaking!! :)

Every year we go to our friends house to celebrate the 4th. They live in a really small town but the fireworks are always spectacular!

Ashley's Baking

Ashley loves to bake! She really enjoys being in the kitchen and working by my side as often as she can. Ashley asked for a kids cookbook for her birthday and when she got it she quickly picked out some recipes to try. Above are a cookie pizza with chocolate sauce and polka dot cupcakes. Great job Ashley and so YUMMY!!
